Every song has a different journey, but some projects become special because of the people, places and unexpected decisions involved in bringing them to life. For O$KAR, also known as OSKAR and Arun Pandey, “Gangster Chori” became one such project.

What started as a beat and a rough demo created by O$KAR in the early months of 2024 eventually developed into an international collaboration with Sultan Abo Moghdeb, an artist connected from Dubai.

The finished song brought together artists and producers working from different locations, went through multiple stages of musical development, and was finally released on August 25, 2024, on O$KAR’s official YouTube channel during a live fashion-show event in Korba.

But the story began much earlier, with O$KAR sitting down to build the music himself.

The Beginning of Gangster Chori

The creation of “Gangster Chori” started during the early months of 2024.

Before there was an international collaboration or a finished version of the song, O$KAR first began designing the music and creating the beat.

Rather than immediately recording a final version, he built an initial scratch or dummy version of the track. This early demo helped establish the basic sound, energy and direction of the song.

Once the first version was ready, O$KAR shared it with his friend DJ Harry, also known as Hitesh Dewangan.

That conversation ended up changing the direction of the project.

The Idea of an International Collaboration

After listening to the early version of “Gangster Chori,” DJ Harry liked the track and suggested that O$KAR should consider turning it into an international collaboration.

DJ Harry had a friend based in Dubai who was originally from Nigeria. The early version of the song was shared with him, and he also responded positively to the track.

He recorded and sent his own verse for the song.

O$KAR and the team liked what he had created, and for a period, it appeared that this would become the collaboration used for the final release.

However, the process began experiencing delays from the other artist’s side.

Rather than keeping the entire project on hold indefinitely, the team decided to explore another possibility.

That decision eventually led them to Sultan Abo Moghdeb.

Connecting With Sultan Abo Moghdeb

Sultan Abo Moghdeb was another artist known to DJ Harry.

After the connection was made, conversations between the artists began. It was not simply a case of sending one file and immediately finishing the song. There were multiple calls and discussions, and the collaboration gradually developed as the project moved forward.

Sultan eventually wrote his own rap verse for “Gangster Chori.”

He then sent a dummy recording of the verse so that the team could hear how his part worked with O$KAR’s existing material.

The result immediately gave the song a new direction.

O$KAR and Sultan’s sections were brought together into another full dummy version of the track. Once they listened to the combined version, the collaboration felt right.

The track was now beginning to sound much closer to what the team had imagined.

But O$KAR still wanted the final production to go further.

Bringing Anubhav Into the Project

The next important stage involved Anubhav, a friend of O$KAR and an experienced sound and mixing engineer.

Anubhav had previously worked as a recordist engineer at major studios in Mumbai before later establishing his own studio in Delhi.

O$KAR approached him with “Gangster Chori” and discussed how the track could be developed further.

The project then moved into another production stage at Anubhav MixinPro / ProAudio in Delhi.

Instead of simply polishing the original beat, the music was redesigned, allowing the final production to evolve from the earlier scratch version.

This was a major step in shaping the final sound of “Gangster Chori.”

O$KAR is credited as the song’s music producer, while Sumit Singh contributed as co-producer.

With the redesigned music ready, the team could finally move toward recording the finished vocals.

Recording Across India and Dubai

The international nature of “Gangster Chori” also shaped how the vocals were completed.

O$KAR recorded his part of the track, while Sultan Abo Moghdeb recorded his final vocals in Dubai and sent the recordings to the team.

That meant the finished song was being assembled through a creative process happening across different cities and countries rather than everyone working inside the same recording room.

Both artists also contributed to the songwriting.

The lyrics of “Gangster Chori” were written by O$KAR and Sultan Abo Moghdeb, with each artist bringing his own writing and performance style into the collaboration.

Once all of the final vocal recordings had been received, the project moved into its last major audio stage.

After helping redesign the music, Anubhav also handled the mixing and mastering of “Gangster Chori.”

This was the stage where all of the individual elements — O$KAR’s performance, Sultan’s Dubai-recorded vocals, the redesigned production and the different musical layers — had to be brought together into one finished track.

The process that had begun with O$KAR creating beats and a rough dummy earlier in 2024 had now become a complete international collaboration.

With the final mix and master completed, “Gangster Chori” was ready for release.

August 25, 2024 — The Release of Gangster Chori

“Gangster Chori” was officially released on August 25, 2024 through O$KAR’s YouTube channel, OSKAR.

The release was also connected with a live fashion-show event in Korba, giving the project a physical launch moment alongside its online release.

For O$KAR, the release represented the completion of a process that had gone through several unexpected turns.

The song had started with his own beat and music design. An early collaboration had been explored, but delays meant the project had to take a different direction. DJ Harry then helped connect O$KAR with Sultan Abo Moghdeb, leading to multiple conversations, new writing and a fresh international collaboration.

From there, Anubhav joined the production process, the music was redesigned in Delhi, Sultan recorded his final vocals from Dubai, and the complete track was mixed and mastered before eventually reaching listeners on August 25.

More Than a Simple Collaboration

What makes “Gangster Chori” memorable for O$KAR is not only that it featured an international artist.

The collaboration happened organically through a series of creative decisions.

O$KAR was involved from the very beginning — designing the music, creating the beats, producing the track, writing lyrics and performing as one of its singers/artists.

Sultan Abo Moghdeb contributed his own lyrics, rap performance and vocals from Dubai, bringing another musical identity into the song.

DJ Harry played an important role in suggesting the idea of taking the track toward an international collaboration and helping make the connection possible.
